Who Am I Without Pain? A Pain Coach’s Guide to Self-Rediscovery During and After Healing

It is not uncommon for people with long-term chronic pain to feel as if they’ve lost track of who they are. This webinar discusses practical solutions for rediscovering a purpose beyond enduring the day-to-day and shares the story of two Lin pain recovery coaches who found the courage and motivation to leave their pain identities behind in their own experiences with long-term chronic pain. They present ideas about how to explore reimagined priorities and dreams and share how they changed their self-perception by incorporating these ideas into their lives.

What you’ll learn:

  • Why many people feel like they have lost themselves to chronic pain.
  • Why it is so common for people to feel unsure about what to do with themselves as they recover.
  • How to rediscover your priorities and explore what makes you happy.

About your hosts

Callie Kunz

Callie Kunz

Lin Health Coach

Callie’s first career was in public education. She retired early due to fibromyalgia pain and began a desperate effort to find a cure. She credits serendipity for putting her husband in a situation at his job where he met Dr. Howard Schubiner, a respected mind-body practitioner. Finally, after 24 years of searching for answers, she knew what to do to recover, and was able to heal herself. In 2019 she was asked to mentor a group of patients in a Pain Reprocessing Therapy clinical implementation study and has been working with chronic pain patients in one format or another ever since. In her free time, you might find her chasing Northern Lights or playing in the snow.

Shannon Dougherty

Lin Health Coach

Shannon is a pain recovery coach who healed herself from 17 years worth of chronic pain and other symptoms her doctors considered incurable. Her mission is to help spread the word that chronic pain is curable and that no matter how hopeless it might feel, it can and it does get better. Her mantra is "keep going" because you just never know what is going to work and eventually something will!
